Beginner: For first time participants or participants that have limited experience creating fly lures.
Fly-tying is a combination of an art form and science. Learn how to make fishing lures used in fly-fishing that are both beautiful and functional in their representation of native North American insects during this workshop hosted by entomologist, Andy Boswell, M.S. Discover the world of aquatic insects and their role in stream ecology and fish life cycles. Also, learn the techniques and skills necessary to recreate anatomically correct insect lures for a more effective fishing experience. Participants will create two fly lures to add to their collection during this workshop. Participants are welcome to register for both sessions for additional supplies and time to tie.
