Monday, March 14
“Birds”

10:15 to 10:45 a.m.
Exploration Station

The museum’s education collection houses all kinds of objects that visitors rarely get to see. Come take a closer look as our museum educators bring out some of these spectacular specimens for you to explore!

11 to 11:45 a.m.
Sutton Avian Research Center: It’s All About Birds!                 

Learn all about birds in an amazing, interactive show presented by the Sutton Avian Research Center!

11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Craft

Children of all ages are invited to create a camouflage bird craft!

Noon to 12:45 p.m.
Birding Basics

Join us for a nature trek as we look for different birds! We will walk around the museum grounds to discover birds in the trees, in the sky and on the ground. (Weather permitting)

1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
Sutton Avian Research Center: It’s All About Birds!

Learn all about birds in an amazing, interactive show presented by the Sutton Avian Research Center!

2 to 4:30 p.m.
Colorful Birds

Choose a bird cut-out and make it colorful! Then, take it home, or put it on our “art wall” for the day!

Paint Your Own Face

Get creative! Paint your face to look like a dinosaur, butterfly or Oklahoma animal!

Dinosaur Discovery

*Space is limited to 30 people on a first-come basis.

It takes a lot of work for a fossil to go from the ground to the museum! Join us for a simulated excavation in our classroom and learn how to identify some Oklahoma fossils! All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Meet a Scientist! Ornithology

Stop by to talk with a museum scientist and see some birds from the museum’s ornithology collection!

The Oklahoma Fancy Dancers are a group of powwow champions that come together to form a professional, highly acclaimed Native American dance troupe. The dance shows are educational, informational, entertaining and showcase a variety of traditional American Indian tribal dances.
