Oklahoma Native American Youth Language FairOklahoma Native American Youth Language Fair (ONAYLF)

This annual event, which began in April 2003, attracts over 1,000 students from pre-K to 12th grades who are learning their Native languages. It involves the local and university community, tribal communities, families and over 100 volunteers. Students come from language classes, including public schools, home schools, community classes and tribal language programs. They perform at the museum for elders and teachers and receive a score. The top three performances in each category receive a trophy they can take back to their schools. Every child who participates receives a medal and a T-Shirt.
