DESCRIPTION:(Ages 9-12) \nCalling all young explorers! Join us from July 20-24 for an unforgettable summer camp experience at the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. Each week‑long\, three‑hour session of Summer Explorers is led by experienced museum educators and features unique themes packed with hands‑on activities\, experiments\, and plenty of opportunities to discover something new. \nThis week’s program\, designed for children ages 9 to 12\, is Around the World\, a world of cultures under one roof! \nEmbark on a global adventure without leaving Oklahoma! With the help of activities and museum objects\, we will explore diverse cultures and celebrations from around the world.  \nIt’s the perfect way for kids to meet new friends\, get out of the house\, and make summer memories that last a lifetime. \nEvery Summer Explorers camper gets a free camp T‑shirt to commemorate their adventure. Be sure to choose your preferred size when you register. \nBooster seats are provided for children 9 and under and are available for children over the age of 9 upon request of parents/guardians. SUMMARY:The History of Conservation Districts & Conservation Practices in Oklahoma
DESCRIPTION:In April 1937\, after the events of the Dust Bowl\, Oklahoma passed the Conservation District Enabling Act\, which gave citizens the opportunity to form their own conservation districts and created the agency now known as the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. In this lecture\, the speakers will talk about the events that led to the formation of the Soil Conservation Service (now known as the Natural Resources Conservation Service)\, the Oklahoma Conservation Commission and its conservation districts\, and how they continue to serve Oklahomans today.  \n\n\nSpeakers: Lisa Knuaf-Owen & Clancy Green\, Oklahoma Conservation Commission.  \nClick Here to Register
