Each session dives into a themed topic\, connecting stories to science and cultural history with museum objects that let kids see\, touch\, and discover in our interactive Discovery Room. After our story\, kids can get creative with a fun craft inspired by the story’s theme—something special to take home as a reminder of their adventure. Best of all\, Crafts and Tales is included free with museum admission\, making it the perfect way for young learners to enjoy interactive storytelling\, hands-on exploration\, and artistic expression all in one visit! \n\n\n

SUMMARY:The History of Conservation Districts & Conservation Practices in Oklahoma
DESCRIPTION:In April 1937\, after the events of the Dust Bowl\, Oklahoma passed the Conservation District Enabling Act\, which gave citizens the opportunity to form their own conservation districts and created the agency now known as the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. In this lecture\, the speakers will talk about the events that led to the formation of the Soil Conservation Service (now known as the Natural Resources Conservation Service)\, the Oklahoma Conservation Commission and its conservation districts\, and how they continue to serve Oklahomans today.  \n\n\nSpeakers: Lisa Knuaf-Owen & Clancy Green\, Oklahoma Conservation Commission.  \nClick Here to Register
