Collection Scope and Contents: The Don and Evelyn Tofpi Collection features original audio recordings and translations of Kiowa church songs, warrior and round dances, and flag and ceremony songs. Also featured are recordings of Cherokee and Creek hymns and church services. The materials are the collected works of Evelyn S. Tofpi (daughter of Vivian McCombs McCosar) and husband Donald of Anadarko, Oklahoma. Donald served as the chairman of the Kiowa Indian Tribe of Oklahoma from 2008 – 2010 and was a contributing author to Candace S. Greene’s 2002 book, “Silver Horn: Master Illustrator of the Kiowas,” of which Silver Horn, Donald’s great-grandfather, is the focus.
