Museum Hours and Holidays
Hours of Operation – The Sam Noble Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays.
Holiday Openings – The museum is open for most federal holidays, including those that fall on a Monday.
Holiday Closures – The museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Admission and Group Rates
Ticket Pricing:
- $12 adults
- $10 seniors (age 65 and up)
- $7 children (ages 4-17)
- Children age 3 and under receive free admission
Ticket Discounts:
- Free Admission for OU Students
- Free Admission for Active Duty Military and Veterans
- Free Admission for OU Alumni Association Members
- Free Admission for President’s Associates Members
- OU Staff and Faculty Tickets – $11
Valid ID must be presented to receive discounted admission.
Group Rates – Groups of 15 or more may call in advance (405-325-7977) to reserve a group rate discount of $1 per person. Reservations must be made at least one week in advance. Payment must be made as a group, and any additional tickets not included in the group reservation will be sold at the standard price.

Location and Parking Information
Location – The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is located at 2401 Chautauqua Avenue, Norman, OK 73072, on the University of Oklahoma campus. From Interstate 35, take Exit 108A onto Highway 9 East. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn left onto Chautauqua Avenue. Continue north for 1.8 miles—the museum will be on your right-hand side.
Parking – Free parking is available directly in front of the Sam Noble Museum, including accessible parking and drop-off zones near the main entrance. The lot also accommodates charter buses and recreational vehicles in designated bus lanes. A complete map of our parking areas can be found Here.
Game Day Parking – The Sam Noble Museum parking lot is available to the public during OU football game days for a cost of $25 per vehicle. Museum members receive free game day parking. Click Here to learn more.
Public Transportation – Several public transportation options are available to reach the Sam Noble Museum. Cleveland Area Rapid Transit (CART) operates two local routes that stop near the museum, Loop 32 (Apartment Loop) and Loop 52 (Campus Loop).
From Downtown Oklahoma City you may take Line 24 to the Norman Transit Center, then transfer to Line 111 which stops near Brooks/Jenkins, a short walk from the museum.
Accessibility and Visitor Amenities
Stroller and Wheelchair Access – Guests may visit our front desk to request strollers and wheelchairs as needed. This service is free of charge.
Service Animals – In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Sam Noble Museum welcomes officially certified service animals that are individually trained to perform specific tasks for individuals with disabilities.
Please note that emotional support animals, therapy animals, and pets are not permitted in the museum, as they do not meet the ADA definition of a service animal.
Restrooms and Changing Stations – Visitors can find restrooms located in the first floor lobby, in our Discovery Room, and upstairs past our exhibit areas. All museum restrooms also include changing facilities.
Sensory Kits – Sensory Kits are specially designed to make a visit to the museum more accessible and enjoyable for neurodiverse audiences. Created for those with sensory sensitivities, these kits include a range of tools, toys, learning aids, and other sensory-friendly items to help visitors process and interact with exhibits in a way that is comfortable and engaging for them. Sensory Kits can be checked out at our front desk, and are free of charge.

Excavations the Museum Store – Our museum gift shop specializes in unique natural history themed gifts and makes a special effort to stock items produced locally and regionally. Excavations is open during regular museum hours, and no admission fee is required to visit the store.
Wi-Fi and Photography Policies
Personal photography is allowed in all of the museum’s permanent galleries. For traveling exhibits, please check with our Welcome Desk to see whether any photography restrictions are in place. Professional photographers are asked to contact the museum’s public relations department at (405) 325-0598 before scheduling a photo or video shoot.
Public Wi-Fi – The museum hosts free public wi-fi for all visitors. To access our wi-fi network, connect to OUGuest. Open your device’s web browser and follow the prompt to sign on to the network.
