Summer Explorers Camp 2025
Join us this summer at the Sam Noble Museum and experience science first-hand through a variety of discovery-based programs. Each week-long, two-hour Summer Explorers program (children ages 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12) features a different natural or cultural history theme.
REGISTRATION
Don’t miss out! Space is limited and advance registration is required. Visit the Sam Noble Museum website to register. For questions or accommodations on the basis of disability, please contact Visitor Services at (405) 325-7977. Cost: $80 (Member youth); $100 (Non-member youth).

T-SHIRT
Each Summer Explorers youth program participant will receive a T-shirt. Please indicate the size when you register.
OFF-SITE PROGRAMS indicated with ☀️
These programs will take place in the best classroom of all: the great outdoors! We will start at the museum and then travel in museum or university vans to local parks. Booster seats are provided for children 9 and under and are available for children over the age of 9 upon request of parents/guardians. Participants should be dressed to get wet and dirty and must bring a water bottle.
ON-SITE PROGRAMS
These programs will stay on-site to explore the museum’s amazing galleries, collections, and outdoor spaces! Participants should bring a jacket (the museum can get chilly) and a water bottle.
REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be received 10 business days prior to the start of the program for a full refund. If a program is cancelled by the museum, you will receive a notice prior to the start date and a full refund will be issued.

Class Descriptions – Summer Explorers
Ages 6-7
Pond Explorer☀️
Dragonflies, tadpoles, and water striders…oh my! Find out what plants and animals live in the water as we explore different ponds around Norman.
Nature Explorer☀️
Discover what’s living in our local parks, ponds, and streams. We’ll visit several natural areas around Norman to search for critters of all colors, sizes, and shapes.
Dino Adventures
Dig into the past with us as we learn about some of Oklahoma’s oldest inhabitants. We’ll uncover clues about trilobites, dinosaurs, and more!
Art Adventures
Discover patterns, colors, shapes, and textures found in nature. We will draw, paint, and craft as we explore plants, animals, and more through art!
Ages 8-9
Slime & Scales I☀️
Snakes, lizards, frogs, and toads! We’ll observe and study scaley and slimy animals in their natural habitats and learn how to safely handle them.
Earth & Sky
From rocks and soil to weather and stars, discover many wonders of our planet and the universe.
Fossil Fun
That’s not “just a rock”! We’ll learn about the amazing plants and animals, including dinosaurs, that once lived in Oklahoma and other parts of the world.
Waterways I☀️
Weird and wonderful creatures live in the water all around us. We’ll explore local ponds, streams, and rivers to learn more about them.
Wild About Art I
Nature comes in a variety of colors, shapes, and patterns. We’ll use them as inspiration to explore the natural world through drawing, painting, sculpting, and more!
Grossology
How can ‘gross’ be essential to living things? We’ll investigate slime, scat, and not-so-gross surprises.
Ages 10-12
Slime & Scales II☀️
Explore the daily lives of reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitats. We’ll learn how to safely handle these interesting animals and why we should protect them.
Waterways II☀️
Weird and wonderful creatures live in the water all around us. We’ll explore local ponds, and streams to learn more about them.
-Ology
What do scientists really do? Get an inside peek at a variety of science fields from Anthropology to Zoology. We’ll investigate with the help of museum scientists.
Wild About Art II
Nature comes in a variety of colors, shapes, and patterns. We’ll use them as inspiration to explore the natural world through drawing, painting, sculpting, and more!
