Spring 2017 Programming
Family Invertebrate Fossil Field Trip
Friday, April 28, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Sam Noble Museum invites you to join invertebrate paleontology curator Steve Westrop, Ph.D., for an exciting journey into Oklahoma’s Paleozoic past. Explore life in Oklahoma’s ancient oceans on Friday evening with a close-up look at some of the museum’s finest invertebrate specimens. On Saturday morning, we will depart from the museum at 9 a.m. and travel in university vans to the site where you will find a variety of marine fossils that you can take home. Bring a sack lunch, snacks, comfortable shoes and plenty of water. This field trip is for children seven and up with an adult. Participants are required to bring any forms sent via confirmation email on or before the first day of the program. Advance registration is required and space is limited. On-site registration is not available for this program.
Cost: Members $90; Non-members $110. Prices include one adult and one child.

Saturday, May 6, 1 to 4 p.m.
Explore the art of weaving and create your own Cherokee round reed basket! Dive into the history, the materials and the basket basics. Next, weave away and make a Cherokee round reed basket to take home. This event is for children 5 and up with an adult. Space is limited and advance registration is required. On-site registration is not available for this program.
Cost: Members $35; Non-members $40. Prices include one adult and one child.

Kids’ Day with a Scanning Electron Microscope

Don’t miss Kids’ Day with a Scanning Electron Microscope! Kids’ Day is an event organized by the Oklahoma Microscopy Society and hosted at the Sam Noble Museum. With the same exciting focus as the Society's annual Ugly Bug Contest, this program allows families to operate an actual scanning electron microscope to image the ugliest bug they can find. This event is for children 5 and up with an adult.
This event is free of charge. Space is limited and advance registration is required. On-site registration is not available for this program.

Summer 2017 Programming
Registration for summer programming is now open! Family programs are designed for families, ages 5+.
Cost: Members $20; Non-members $30. Price includes one adult and one child. For each additional person, the cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
Across the Universe

It’s a bird … It’s a plane … It’s a giant fireball burning up in Earth’s atmosphere! Join us as we explore comets, asteroids, meteors and more. Finish off the night and show off your astronomy skills as we venture into our “Great Balls of Fire” exhibit for a special game. Join us for a night of fun that is sure to leave an impact!
A Night at the Museum

Have you ever wondered what happens in the museum when the doors are locked and the lights go down? Explore and play in the museum with your family in a whole new way…you just might see something you’ve never seen before!
A Night with Bats
Friday, July 21, 8 to 10 p.m.
What can you discover in the dark? Join us as we explore the amazing life of bats and other nocturnal critters! Bring your blanket and sense of adventure- after a short exploration at the museum we will travel by caravan to a local park to encounter high flying mammals and more!
