Scout Workshops

Are you a Girl Scout or Cub Scout? The Sam Noble Museum offers workshops for scouts and troops throughout the year. Scouts will explore museum galleries and engage in hands-on activities in order to complete all requirements to earn one badge, loop or pin. All workshops include general admission for the scouts. Advanced registration is required and space is limited. On-site registration is not available for these programs. Participants are required to bring any forms sent via confirmation email (releases, waivers, etc.) on or before the first day of the program.

Girl Scouts

Senior Girl Scout “Sky” Workshop
Saturday, April 15, 6 to 9 p.m.

Set your eye to the sky! Join us as we discover the layers of the atmosphere, the science of flight and more. We will top it all off with an up-close look of the night sky through telescopes! Seniors will complete all the requirements to earn the “Sky” badge. Badge not included. Deadline to register is April 5.

Boy Scouts

Wolf Cub Scouts “Digging in the Past” Workshop
Saturday, April 15, 10 a.m. to noon

Dive into the wonderful world of dinosaurs! We’ll identify, create and dig for fossils in this prehistoric adventure. Wolf Scouts will complete all the requirements for the “Digging in the Past” adventure loop. Loop not included. Deadline to register is April 5.

Webelos Scouts “Into the Woods” Workshop
Saturday, April 15, 1 to 4 p.m.

Is it easy being green? Join us as we explore what types of trees are found in Oklahoma and how trees are beneficial to their ecosystems. Webelos will complete all the requirements to earn the “Adventures in Science” Webelos/AOL elective adventure pin. Pin not included. Deadline to register is April 5.

For Spring programs, the cost is $12 per scout and includes the workshop and general admission. Scouts registering individually are each required to have one adult chaperone. For troop registration, a minimum of one adult chaperone is required per five scouts. Attending chaperones receive complimentary workshop admission. General museum admission not included for adults. Badges, belt loops and pins are not included. Advance registration is required and space is limited. On-site registration is not available for these programs.  Please note that due to space limitations, additional siblings and other children not enrolled in the workshop may not remain in the program area.   • Troop registration payments must be received two weeks in advance of the program.
  • All scouts must be paid for at one time.
  • A minimum of one adult chaperone is required per five scouts

Registration for summer Scout Workshops is now open!

Cost: $12 per Scout.

Girl Scouts

Brownie Girl Scout "Inventor" Workshop
Monday, July 3, noon to 2 p.m.

Bring your creativity to the museum as we explore new ways to use everyday things! What can you do with a box? How many different ways can you use nature to make music? Learn to think like an inventor and find out! Brownie Scouts will complete all the requirements to earn the “Inventor” badge.

Junior Girl Scout "Animal Habitats" Workshop
Wednesday, July 5, 1 to 4 p.m.

Walk on the wild side as we explore the animals all around us. Join us and explore classification, Oklahoma habitats, endangered animals and more! Junior Scouts will complete all requirements for the “Animal Habitats” badge.

Boy Scouts

Tiger Cub Scout "Tiger Tales" Workshop
Wednesday, July 5, 10 a.m. to noon

The time has come for Tigers to tell terrifically tall tales! Join us as we share stories and activities from different cultures. Tiger Scouts will complete requirements for the “Tiger Tales” adventure loop.

Webelos Scout "Earth Rocks!" Workshop
Thursday, July 6, 1 to 4 p.m.

Become a geologist! We’ll go on a rock hunt, identify minerals and explore geology in action! Webelos will complete requirements for the “Earth Rocks!” adventure pin.

Wolf Cub Scout "Motor Away" Workshop
Friday, July 7, 10 a.m. to noon

Ready, set, go! Discover ways to fly, sail and propel as we “launch” into creating things that move! Wolf Scouts will complete requirements for the “Motor Away” adventure loop.

Bear Cub Scout "Super Science" Workshop
Friday, July 7, 1 to 4 p.m.

Calling all scientists! Join us as we explore and experiment with static electricity, color and more! Bear Scouts will complete requirements for the “Super Science” adventure loop.
