Why Donate?
At the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, we believe in the power of exploration, wonder, and discovery. Located on the beautiful campus of the University of Oklahoma, your state museum of natural history is a treasure trove of knowledge, bridging the gap between the past and the present.
But we can’t do it alone!
Your donation matters. It fuels our mission to inspire minds, foster understanding, and celebrate the wonders of our natural world. Whether you’re passionate about paleontology, the wildlife of our state, or Oklahoma’s rich cultural history, your contribution helps us share our collections with visitors and researchers from across the state, the nation, and the world!
What We Do
Collection-Based Research: From the ancient past to the living present, our staff continues to explore and preserve the natural and cultural history of Oklahoma. Your support enables groundbreaking discoveries that shape our understanding of our past, present and future!
Interpretation: From towering dinosaurs to delicate butterflies, we bring the past and present to life. Our exhibits ignite curiosity, spark conversations, and create lifelong memories for visitors of all ages.
Education: We’re more than a museum; we’re an educational hub. Your donation directly impacts educational programs, public events, and outreach initiatives for families and children. Imagine the wide-eyed wonder of a child seeing their first dinosaur!

Our Giving Day Funds:
On Giving Day donors and supporters will be able to choose among three designated funds which support various programs and causes at the Sam Noble Museum. Donors can also select the “Musems – Other” option and designate a fund of their choice with either the fund number, or a description of the fund in the “Additional Details” field.
The Fossil Fuel Fund supports Oklahoma schools by covering the costs of admission and program fees for field trips. This enables rural districts and students to visit their state’s natural history museum despite costs that might otherwise be prohibitive.
The Sam Noble Museum’s Discovery on the Road Fund supports the museum’s ongoing to goal of creating traveling exhibits which tour across the state of Oklahoma, allowing rural communities to experience their state’s natural history museum in their home community.
The Children’s Program Fund supports the various programs, events and activities that the Sam Noble Museum presents for regional children, from educational classes to larger public programs.
