Collection Scope and Contents: The John Kirk Collection was established in 2016 and features a series of audio recordings for learning and speaking conversational Cherokee. In all, there are 27 lessons accompanied with exercises, appendices and alphabetical vocabulary lists, a textbook that contains everyday vocabulary and phrases, gradual familiarity with the Cherokee syllabary, and an introduction to Cherokee verb-and-noun-building methods.
In addition, the authors have also scattered Cherokee Indian names for plants, flowers, and animals throughout the lessons and devoted the appendices to them, which can be found in the back of the book.
